Kildare History
The Kildare ICA Federation was formed in 1953 at a meeting held in Straffan and the first President of the Federation was Ms. Duncan from Kill.
Our current Federation President is Mildred keyes a member of Newbridge Guild.
At the moment we have a number of vibrant Guilds in Kildare, all of which meet once a month, not only to organise and partake in activities such as pitch and putt, dancing, art, yoga, computer classes, competitions, trips to places of interest, outings to the theatre, weekends away to An Grianán, but also to discuss and represent women's views, to provide women with opportunities for personal development, mutual support, education and information, and issues that are fundamental to the provision of equality for women in Irish society.
