Knitting for the Irish Heart Foundation
The sets of mittens, hats and scarves will be sold in Kilkenny Shops starting in September and right through January. We have chosen three colours for the sets and you can put your spin on each piece with those colours!
The colours are Winter White, Dark Christmas Red and Royal Purple. We are in the process of securing discount vouchers for those colours of wool. We will let you know when those vouchers come in so you can start knitting!
We would hope to have as many sets from each guild, bearing in mind that the more sets we have, the more we will be able to raise for the good work the Irish Heart Foundation is doing.
In the meantime, you might start practicing the fun heart patterns designed by Therese Hehir in Limerick just for this knit-a-thon!

ICA Knitting to Warm Irish Hearts!
AS 2011 is the European Year of Volunteering, ICA is getting the might of the organisation behind National Day of Volunteering 30th September. Click here for information about hosting your own knit-a-thon on September 30th and participating in the World Record knitting contest!
We are determined to make it the biggest and best Day of Volunteering yet!
To achieve this, we are partnering with Volunteer Centres Ireland and Kilkenny Shops to knit for the Irish Heart Foundation.
Please volunteer your time to knit sets of mittens, scarves and mittens. These will be packaged by Kilkenny Shops and sold around the country (and also on their website). All profits will go directly to the Irish Heart Foundation.
