Meath Federation

Welcome to Meath Federation.

This federation was formed in 1958. Prior to 1958 Meath and Louth were a joint Federation, but in 1958 the county was confident enough to form its own federation. To date we have proudly contributed four National Presidents – Lady Fingall, Bea Trench, Camilla Hannon and Kitty Harlin.

If you would like to join us just give us a call and you will make friends for life.

All our Guilds meet at least once a month where all sorts of crafts are taught and demonstrated such as Embroidery, Carrickmacross Lace, Smocking, Knitting, Quilting, etc. The Arts are not left out either with classes in Public Speaking, Calligraphy and Art. Our Irish heritage is also catered for. You can “brush up” on your Irish conversation or enjoy Irish Dancing.

An Grianán, the Adult Education Centre, is nearby so members can take part in the many and varied courses there.

All our Guilds arrange their own Social Evenings. Some go to Dublin for the latest shows or cabarets while recently a wine tasting evening was much enjoyed. Being a member can be great fun. We are also involved in our own communities and help out with “Meals on Wheels”, Retirement Groups, etc.
