ICA Federations Bulletin – Westmeath

ICA is delighted to start a new monthly feature ‘ICA Federations Bulletin’!  

Each month Guilds’ activities from one of our 27 Federations will be featured to acknowledge the ongoing engagement and efforts at local level. Let’s start with activities happening in the ICA Westmeath Federation! 
 
There are currently 8 Guilds in Co. Westmeath: 

Following a very well attended Federation meeting on February 21st, activities for the month of March are varied and engaging – there is something for everyone. Activities for some of the Guilds in Westmeath are outlined below. 

  • Athlone Guild

    Ballinea/Brodenstown:
  • Pickleball in association with Westmeath Sports Partnership.
  • Spring Conference in Galway.
  • International Women’s Day celebrations in Athlone.
  • ICA ‘End Gender- based Violence’ Campaign.

    Castlepollard Guild:
  • Chair yoga in conjunction with Westmeath Sports Partnership.
  • Brain Health – a 2 class course with an occupational therapist with tips for a healthy brain.
  • Spring Conference – At least 3 members are attending.
  • A day out in Athlone – a visit to Fern Hill Garden Centre in Athlone.
  • Collinstown/Fore

    Horseleap/Streamstown:
  • Aqua Aerobics in Clara Pool.
  • Pole Walking in association with
  • Westmeath Sports Partnership.
  • Bowls in Ballymore Hall.
  • Spring Conference in Salthill.
  • Basket-making using willow.
  • International Women’s Day celebrations in Athlone.
  • Kinnegad Guild 

    Mullingar Guild:
  • Coffee Morning/ Cake Sale in aid of the Turkey/Syria Earthquake Appeal, Thursday March 2nd.
  • Flowers for the Cathedral. The Guild is assuming responsibility for flower arrangements to enhance the entrance to the Cathedral.
  • Spring Conference in Galway.
  • International Women’s Day celebrations in Athlone.
  • ICA ‘End Gender- based Violence’ Campaign.
  • Drama: Rehearsals for 1st time entry into the National Drama Competition in An Grianan.
  • Tang Guild

Well done to everyone in Westmeath, both at Guild and Federation level, for the fantastic work you are doing.
