Launch of the National Brown Bread Baking Competition 2026!

We are absolutely delighted to announce that the National Brown Bread Baking Competition 2026 was officially launched yesterday and excitement is already building!

The winner will take home a cash prize of €5,000 PLUS a NEFF Slide&Hide®oven (RRP €2,019)!

You’ll all remember the incredible winning loaf by Maureen Igoe, Bonniconlon Guild, Mayo Federation last year. What a fantastic achievement! Now it’s time to see if another talented ICA member can rise to the challenge and take the crown in 2026.

We are calling on all Federations to host a qualifying heat between now and the end of June, and we warmly encourage every member to get involved. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or just love the smell of fresh bread in the kitchen, this is your moment!

The ICA final will take place in An Grianán on Tuesday, 28th July 2026 and it would be great to see all Federations represented.

Three finalists will go forward to the Grand Final at the National Ploughing Championships in Screggan Tullamore on 17th September 2026.

We ask that each Federation sends details of the winner, and the runner up to Central Office before Monday 6th July at 5:00 pm.

So roll up your sleeves, preheat those ovens, and let’s get baking—we can’t wait to see (and smell!) your delicious creations!
