Get Knitting For Good in support of Beaumont Hospital

The ICA is delighted to be supporting Beaumont Hospital Foundation’s Knitivity campaign which invites Ireland’s knitters and crocheters to create one, or all, of a range of festive decorative projects which are sold to raise funds for improvements in patient care at one of the country’s largest and busiest emergency hospitals.

When you sign up to get involved, you’ll be sent a Knitivity pack including patterns (for knitters and crocheters) for people of all levels of skill, fabric labels to sew on to the finished products, ID cards which ask each knitter/crocheter to give their name and county of origin and return freepost mailing labels . The completed ID cards are attached to the finished items and sold in attractive bags to complete a lovely gift package. This year’s patterns are available at www.beaumontfundraising.ie/knitivity.

You can sell your knitted items to family and friends or at your own local pre-Christmas sale of work and return the funds to the charity.  Alternatively, you can drop them off for sale through any Haven Pharmacy countrywide and 100% of the sale price will be remitted to BHF, or, you can use the Freepost mailing labels to return your work to the Foundation and they will sell them at their desk in Beaumont Hospital and online.

The campaign encourages people of all ages to pick up their needles in support of a great cause. And, when you sign up to take part, you’ll also be helping to produce wonderful Irish gifts that will decorate homes countrywide this Christmas and also showcase the wonderful creative talent of our craft community.

If you’d like to get involved, you can register at www. beaumontfundraising.ie or call  Sarah on 01 – 809 2457.
