Former National President, Ina Broughall RIP

It is with great regret that the ICA has learned of the passing of Ina Broughall, former ICA National President, Monday, 26th January 2026. Ina served as ICA National President from 1985 to 1988.
Ina is remembered as an exceptional leader whose commitment to ICA was evident at local, Federation and national levels. She was an active and dedicated member of both Graiguecullen Guild, Carlow Federation and Blackrock Guild, Louth Federation. She gave generously of her time and strengthened the association through her steady guidance.

Known for her wonderful sense of humour, Ina brought warmth and ease to all she did. In 1988 she was invited to be a guest presenter on Saturday Live, where she memorably interviewed actor and writer Frank Kelly, engaging her guest and the audience with her natural warmth.

Ina’s service to ICA has left a lasting legacy, her loss will be felt at National, Federation and local levels throughout the association.

Ina is survived by her four children Niall, Conor, Aisling and Daragh, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
May she rest in peace.
Ar dheis dé go raibh a hanam.
