Oxfam Ireland

Oxfam Ireland is part of a global movement of people who work together to fight inequality and end poverty and injustice. The organisation is committed not only to addressing the immediate impacts of poverty, conflict and disaster, but also to tackling the root causes that keep people trapped in inequality long-term.

As one of 22 Oxfam affiliates, Oxfam Ireland works collaboratively across 77 countries.

Oxfam Ireland works alongside communities to help people build better lives through long‑term development programmes, humanitarian aid and emergency response. Teams are on the ground when crises strike — delivering life‑saving water, sanitation, food and protection — and remain afterwards to help rebuild. The organisation also amplifies community voices, campaigning for fairer policies and systems worldwide.

Oxfam Ireland’s goals

The root cause of poverty is inequality – but it doesn’t have to be this way. Oxfam Ireland speaks out against the inequalities that keep people poor, including unfair tax rules, the unequal distribution of wealth, discrimination against women and girls and how the worst impacts of the climate crisis are felt by the people least responsible for causing it.

At Oxfam Ireland, our four priority goals mean that we stand for a just economy, gender justice, climate justice and accountable governance.

You can help. Join the movement to end poverty and inequality once and for all: volunteer, donate, speak out or shop with Oxfam Ireland today.
